Your typical octogenarian

Remember that class in high school called “Money 101″…  Neither do I.  We live in a world where we learn all about history, government, health, biology, math, and literature but Money, Investing, & Business are foreign concepts.  The most in depth one of my teachers ever got with respect to investing was in the 2nd grade when I had to pick and follow a stock.  I picked the stock “Genesis” thinking it had something to do with Sega Genesis… Well fun fact, it was actually a company that sold hair supplies.

So don’t feel like you’re behind the curve (unless you’re over 80, then you are behind the curve, sorry octogenarians); we all had to start somewhere and most of us didn’t know a lick about money until we graduated school and started getting paychecks.  It’s funny to think that society deems you worthy of receiving a salary long before they teach you about what to do with said salary.

This section of the site is dedicated to the basics.  Whether you are here straight out of college, you’re looking to have kids, or you’re looking to retire, these are the facts of life that aren’t shared.  By learning about money, and having it start to work for you, it’s almost like joining a secret society.

The following pages will work on getting out of debt, putting a little money aside for a rainy day, and trying to budget for the monthly expenses.
